About Legal Accountants

Legal Accountants does the accounts and tax for the legal profession: solicitors and the firms they run, self-employed barristers, and law firms as partnerships, LLPs and companies, across the UK. The work is carried out by Tidy Money Ltd, a practice regulated by the ACCA and owned by Preetesh Parmar FCCA. You can check the practice independently at tidymoney.com before you send us anything.

We are not a directory, and your details do not go to a panel of firms. An enquiry sent from this site arrives at the practice that would do the work, and nobody pays us to recommend them.

Engagement, Fees and Identity Checks

You tell us whether you are a solicitor, a barrister or a firm, how you are set up, and what is outstanding. We come back with a fixed fee for the work and the date it has to be finished by. The quote is free and carries no obligation. Where your position is genuinely simple, we say so rather than quote for it.

Once the fee is agreed, anti-money-laundering identity checks come first, as they do at every UK practice. After that we ask for your records once, in a single list, rather than in a chain of emails around your court and filing deadlines.

The Limit on What We Advise, and the Report

Tidy Money Ltd is regulated by the ACCA and holds no permission from the Financial Conduct Authority. We do the tax and the accounts, not investment or pension advice, and we do not sell tax-avoidance schemes.

We are also clear about the SRA accountant's report. Signing one is work for a qualified reporting accountant. What we do is get a firm and its client-account records fully ready for the report and coordinate it, so it comes back clean. The client-money rules we work to are those of England and Wales; Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own separate regimes.

Sourcing and Review

The guidance on this site is written and reviewed by the Legal Accountants editorial team. There are no named authors we cannot stand behind, no invented credentials and no biographies.

Every rate, threshold, rule and date comes from the SRA, GOV.UK, an HMRC manual or legislation, and carries the date it was last checked. Legal tax has moved a great deal recently, from the tax-year basis to the cash basis at the Bar, so where a figure changed we say what it was and when. Everything was last checked on 28 July 2026, and anything we could not confirm against a primary source is not on the site.

There are no customer reviews or testimonials here. If that changes, they will be real and checkable.
